well, it's taken me a long time but I'm finally through Niles Hockkanen's 'Bluegrass Up the Neck." I'll still be going back to it and working to incorporate more of what I've learned in my breaks, but I'm ready to start on another book. At the intermediate level at least, that will help with improvising breaks, moving around the fretboard, and any other aspects of playing. Not a tune book, in other words.
Any advice? One possibility is Hokkanen's "The Pentatonic Mandolin". I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has used both books. And any other instruction book suggestions.
Thanks.
