    Default Pick Review(Another!)

I wanted to let everyone know about a new pick just released bu Jim Dunlop. I think many people will find this pick to their liking. Especially those that use a considerable amount of tremolo while playing and want a bright voice. I also find the grip quite nice to prevent slippage in my fingers.
If you are like me and find that you lose too many picks to be paying $35.00 a pop, you will find the price another advantage. I don't work for Jim Dunlop and just wanted everyone to know that you now have one more choice.http://www.amazon.com/Jim-Dunlop-514.../dp/B00JB4WA18

Yes I used a Wegen for a few days and was not satisfied, though it was brighter than the Golden Gates I was using prior to the Wegen. I bought a Blue Chip TAD-3R 60 which was absolutely great for tremolo but very subdued (dull). I then switched to using V-Picks TREMELO which I liked alot and was my preferred until these Dunlops came along, which are now my go to pick for just about everything I play. Besides liking them, I'm thrilled with the price.

Hi, would you mind sending me one to try? Promise I'll return it. It looks good.

I have some of these on order from Strings Direct here in the UK, who should have them in in the next few days, and will be interested to try them.

They are not available from Dunlop yet. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago and was told they would be available at the end of April

Thanks for pointing these out. These are made of Ultex.....I like the Ultex material for certain of my instruments. The edges last a long time. Would be interested in these new versions. Here's a cheaper version without the sculpted edges:

Bill, how did you get your hands on one?

I preordered some last week through Amazon. The suspense is killing me...I think I'm really going to like this pick. I ordered some of both kinds, the 514P and the 515P. They just look so cool, and it's my favorite shape like the Golden Gate picks.

Might have to check these out. Though I tend to go for a slightly less rounded edge. Maybe this one:

Anyone know what the various model numbers mean. Looks like the 514P and 515p are the same thing.

Edit: Think I solved my own question --grip vs no grip.

I wish they made those a bit thicker.

I think they happened to receive a few samples and I just happened to contact them at the right time with questions about availability. I was fortunate to receive two for a preview.I connected with the picks as soon as I started using them and placed my order at the first opportunity.

I wish they were a bit thicker too. But there's the Americana series in the same shape. I have three from the same pack that measured 1.58mm-1.65mm. The edges are round like the Golden Gate.
