Thread: Girouard goodness

    Default Girouard goodness

This weekend, I attended the March Mandolin Festival in Concord, NH. Great event in it's 9th or 10th year, my first time. I had been seeing references to Girourad here in the forum and I saw some photos of instruments they were planning to bring to the show, one of which really caught my eye. To make a long story short(er), I ended up buying a beautiful new Redwood and Birch A model that I could not be happier with. Stunning to look at and easy to play - the action is super low. The workmanship appears to be first rate and Max and Lauri - the owners - are great people. It felt good to support them and the local economy, as well. What a great way to spend the weekend!

Welcome to the Cafe. Nice mandolin, for sure! Enjoy.

Congrats on the new mando! I was at the festival too (first time). I agree that their work is stunning. Every mandolin they brought was top notch in every respect.

I was going to approach you today to ask about your mandolin actually, but you were doing some jamming at that point and I didn't want to spoil the party. Glad you are happy with your purchase.

Congratulations, Shaun. I'm really glad you came to the festival, and glad you found that mando. I think there was another one sold as well. They make some nice stuff!

Thanks, David. A wonderful and inspiring event. I bet you got some sleep last night (though the timestamp says after midnight. Oh, wait, that's right you are a musician...). Thanks for the energy you put into such a well organized event! Next stop: Mandolin Camp North.
