    Default 1924 Snakehead question

Last night I went to put a strap on a recently acquired A. I was surprised to discover there isn't a strap button as part of the tailpiece assembly, unlike my '21 A.

I wasn't really thinking about replacing the tailpiece to facilitate a strap button. Maybe that's the only option.

Suggestions from someone who has been down this road?

    Thanks.

Do you have an A or an AJr. ? The Loar era A's and above models came with the regular top slide off TP with "The Gibson" engraved on them and therefore would have the end pin or at least the hole for one. The AJr.'s always came with the clamshell (cloud) pull up top TP which would not have the end pin. As seen in above post link you can take the bottom middle screw and put on a metal guitar endpin. I did my 50's F5s that way to preserve the original clamshell TP. Just need a longer screw and maybe a small washer to hold the endpin on.

The Snake is an A Jr. Thanks for the recommendation and references. Good solution.
