    Default Played this K-1 today

Very nice sound and playability from a vintage instrument. Fun to try out this classic. If I fancied myself a mandocello player I probably would have gotten it. I would consider converting it to an octave mandolin but scale length is too long for my taste. No financial interest here, just sharing the experience.

I purchased an ovation mandocello from a guy who had just purchased a 1913 ( I believe) K mandocello
while I like the ovation - the Gibson was considerably a way better instrument
the neck was strangely "triangular" which I thought would be a problem but it fit my hand perfectly
the only thing I would say about the ovation ( which is really just a guitar with 8 strings) is that it is considerably louder unamplified than the mandocello ( to my recollection)

First I need a better mandola
then I will put a nice either Gibson teens or modern mandocello on the list! ( shoot who needs a mortgage anyway)
