This arrived on Christmas Eve and I opened it on Christmas day. Super sound right out of the case.

    Beautiful aren't they?
Is that a wide or standard width nut? I have the wide nut version, looks just like yours. Couldn't be happier with mine.

What a terrific looking mandolin. I can hardly believe you waited one whole day to open the box! That satin-like finish and wine red stain says "vintage" right out of the box. Sitting in front of that old steamer trunk it makes a stunning, period correct pic!!

I really like the look. With ebony tuner buttons & nut, it could be a 'Ninja Mando' !

Excellent choice! The Special Edition is hands down one of the best american made mandolin deals in the world.

That's the standard nut width. It's awesome right out of the case.

All I needed to do to mine was lower the action--which is incredibly easy with the Traditional Brekke Bridge. If I ever need to replace any of my other mandolin bridges, I know what I'll change them out with!

Love that minimalist, no trim look and matte finish. It lets the design of the F-style speak for itself.

Absolutely a beautiful, elegant instrument. I hope you two have a great time together! Also, that's a nice, appropriately-sized stand that seems to fit the instrument nicely. I need to investigate that and quit sticking mine on stands that don't protect it snugly. Congratulations!
