Thread: Case/mando support

    Default Case/mando support

Wondering where exactly, when in the case a mando should be supported. I just bought a Guardian F-style case, a little cheesy but not bad for the cash, but it seems to support the neck of the instrument at the point between the nut and the lowest two tuners. Is this acceptable, or not a good idea for travel (auto/train)?

I use a block of closed cell foam between the end of the headstock, and the inside of the case,
[it's a FG Eastman case which is snug in all other directions]
I ride my Bicycle to Jams in downpours, (on the coast we just call that 'weather')
with this case on my Back.

You can always fill space with open cell mattress foam , make it pretty,?
sew up some bags of plush to put the foam in.

Putting a block of stuff angled to lay the tuners on the headstock upon
would resist cracking the neck in a whiplash like injury.
