    Default One-off e-mando?

This unique instrument just appeared on the Kansas City Craig's list:

    http://kansascity.craigslist.org/msg/1559152430.html

Never heard of a Plymouth amplifier or H. Duncan either for that matter.

Well, I bought this. We'll see how it turns out when it gets here. I'll take it to W'grass for Spruce to look at.

nice work Matin. Let us know how the amp fares. 10" jensen and valves would have to be one of the best starting points for emando sound.
Hereby & forthwith, any instrument with an odd number of strings shall be considered broken. With regard to mix levels, usually the best approach is treating the mandolin the same as a cowbell.

I didn't buy the amp, just the mando ... amp looked too delicate for shipping.

Thanks Martin. Pretty tempting. That was just a couple of hours away from me. Almost jumped on it myself. I'm glad to see you get it.

Well, I had to pull out of the transaction due to some unexpected circumstances. So it may be available again if you boys want to have a go at it. It is a cool-looking little thing ... although given the angle of the string posts, it looks as though the G strings might be rubbing against each other. If anyone finds out anything about H. Duncan of K.C., Mo., please let me know.

Mine now. Martin, are you gonna make an emando.com page for this thing?

Most definitely, but I didn't want to do so until it was sold.

It arrived yesterday, and I am very happy with it. The neck, body, and headstock are all one piece of wood, and the pickups are two strips of metal. The tone on this thing is amazing! Again, I am very happy with it.

I just realized something. Since it's only one piece of wood, there's probably no truss rod. Could that be a problem?

Well, yes and no. There's no neck joint either...

So are you saying don't worry about it?

Another strange thing about this instrument: I haven't measured it, but the scale seems to be less than a foot.

    Lastly, any guesses on dates?
