Re: Cool Stuff to Watch When not Playing
"Standing in the Shadows of Motown" is great. Also "Pulse", a video of a live performance by Pink Floyd from 1994 is a stunning experience, unless that kind of music doesn't appeal to you. If it does, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's 87 minutes, and you can watch it on Youtube. I don't know if it's streaming anywhere else.
If you want to see it, I suggest you find a way to watch it on your TV screen, through headphones or good speakers. the light show/visual material/film clips are really good. I have the DVD, so I was able to really appreciate the bigger screen, etc. The DVD is two discs, and one is the entire Dark Side of the Moon album. I'm watching on YT right now, and that is the beginning part of the concert. It actually looks pretty good on my computer screen.
Of course there's The Last Waltz (The Band), and there's a really good Rolling Stones concert film by Martin Scorsese. It was recorded at the Beacon Theater in NYC, IIRC.
Monterey Pop is really good. Netflix and Amazon Prime have lots of concert videos available, I imagine all the streaming services do.
