Might have been a prop, but looked to me like he was chording on it. And the wiring made me think it was hot. Not the music I play, but was impressed with the performance.

Not my preferred genre, but to the millions of especially young people who watched that show, it's priceless mandolin exposure...
I bet today there are lots of people asking "Was that little stringed instrument that Lil Nas X was playing with on the couch a ukulele???"
