Oh man, sorry to hear that, Dan. Do feel better soon. So here's a question in the interim: Most of us bright folks can figure the "picker" part of your screen name, but the "iflng" ... huh??

"Then one day we weren't as young as before
Our mistakes weren't quite so easy to undo
But by all those roads, my friend, we've travelled down
I'm a better man for just the knowin' of you."

I had noticed the absence of your generous, positive presence, Dan, and have had you in my prayers. I trust that you can navigate this transition, as you have the rest of your disease, with grace and courage. And I hope that music can continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration for you and your family.
Your pal,
Pat

Best wishes - hope you’ll soon be feeling a lot better.
Here's a little surprise for you, Dan.
I liked your recent song "Vader Tavern" so much that I learnt and recorded it as a kind of get-well-soon message for you. I don't normally sing that much, so I hope you don't mind what I've done with your song. Best wishes!
Here's the original, for those who haven't seen it yet. Great song!
Get well soon, Dan. Wishing you a full fast recovery!

Dan - best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. I agree with the sentiment that mandolins have healing powers - recovery goes quicker with something to recover FOR - so plan to be playing as soon as possible. And remember - "breathing is a good thing" -in my profession, I frequently point this out to my patients!
Dan, every day is a small step to getting stronger. Let that pace be a comfort in your relentless recovery.

Robert Johnson's mother, describing blues musicians:
"I never did have no trouble with him until he got big enough to be round with bigger boys and off from home. Then he used to follow all these harp blowers, mandoleen (sic) and guitar players."

As we say over here, "God Bedring" = Good Bettering, i.e. get well soon!
Hoping you're feeling better -- get well soonest!
