Default Help on reading label - figuring out what this is

I'm trying to determine the model number on this Kentucky mandolin and was hoping someone knew how their seriel numbers worked or had more experience reading the labels. I think it is either a 150S or 160S, it was sold to me as a 160. I use it as a loaner up at UNC-CH and wanted to figure out what it is for sure in determing a value. It does have a truss rod. As far as the number I make it out to be 040129-31(or 7)? or could it be 02/0/29-31. I just absolutely can't tell. I appreciate any help or ideas on how to find out. Thanks, Russ

pretty sure it is a 150S

I have a 250S with a very similar scrawled 5, but mine is a bit clearer

Thanks, Mike. Do you know if there is a website or listing where I could try and figure out what the serial numbers are/mean - that might help me date it? I just can't say for sure what any of the characters are in the number, but if there is a listing maybe I could see if anythign looks remotely like it. Thanks for your help.

I don't know of a website with serial numbers but you could try contacting Saga Music's Customer service to see if they could assist. Sag is the importer of Kentucky mandolins. Their website is at:

    www.sagamusic.com

They might b4 able to tell you the years the KM 150-S was in production.
