If the latter it would make sense that a squeeze on resources affects MAS.

But if the former definition applies, MAS is never in remission. Only the strength to resist changes with resources. Like alcoholism; you may be sober, recovering, or even recovered, but you are still an alcoholic.

Much like Mandoplumb, my Ellis satisfied my ultimate mando search. Then, I started moving in other directions: F4, OM, mandola, and different woods. After I got the Nyberg, I checked into rosewood instruments and got enamored with the old Martins. Now that I have one, that direction, seems completed and I no longer look in that direction. So now when I look at the Classifieds, I am more a passive observer. Also, I realize that my herd is getting large and something will have to go for something to be added. That, right there, slows MAS for me. So in remission, well, for the moment.

MAS, or the behavior symptomatic with MAS, may decrease in the light of other syndromes.

A friend of mine has been eaten up recently with drone and small camera addiction, and one could not talk with him for more than 10 minutes without coming under the spell of his disease.

I myself struggle with PKAS (pocket knives), and on occasion I suffer from a bout of CBAS (cowboy boots).

But you have to make a life. Indulge responsibly.
