    Default Distressing my mandolin

Anyone know how to age binding. Mine is way too white. I live in Thailand and don't have access to many finishing supplies.
    First attempt.
    Photos not good.

A light coat of orange shellac tones down the white nicely.

About the best way I've found to distress my mandolin is to try and play it...

Yeah, but how's that gonna help with the OP's problem--taming the overly-white binding...?

    Yep...
I'd do about 3 coats with a brush, just hitting the binding...
Let it dry a few days, then hit it with 600 paper to meld it to the original finish...
    Luck!

I figured since the OP already had about as good an answer as he is gonna get I'd have a little fun...

Sunlight will yellow lacquer if it's lacquered.

But my opinion is to keep it new looking as possible and distress it by playing it as much as possible.
