Default Check out this fine new builder - White Mandolins

Just wanted to give an enthusiastic shout out and thumbs up for Tyler White of White Mandolins. I just purchased his 4th creation . . . an F5 and boy am I glad I did! It's a well constructed and extremely playable quality mando. I also own and play a Gibson, Weber, Silverangle, Grady, Bulldog, Eastman DG1, Girouard, so I feel pretty qualified to compare. He told me he's well along with #5, so keep your eyes out. Check out his website http://pinehouseguitars.squarespace....ite-mandolin-4 and a youtube clip of him playing the one I now proudly own . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ccALQ7TPn4 . . . thanks Tyler!!!

That's a stunning looking mandolin & it sounds excellent as well. Looking at Tyler's website,if that's the current pricing of his mandolins, then for that quality of build,he'll sell every one he makes. A great new builder on the scene,

Looks ace in the pics, and sounds ace on the video. A really deep, rich, meaty tone. Lovely!

Looks as good as it gets in my eyes. I reckon the seemless sunburst contained to a small area in the middle is so much more beautiful than the widespread sunbursts.

If it sounds good them at $2650 it looks a winner. pity I'm in the UK.

Jimmy - At the listed price,£1,852 UK + shipping + Vat,i'd be willing to bet it would only be as much as a Northfield FS5 in total & maybe even less - it might be worth checking out if anybody in the UK gets a dose of MAS,

After this thread, the price will be going up, and fair enough too.

Ron - That's the biggest danger in pricing your instruments at the lower end. Folk read about them & expect to buy them at that price - hike the price up & you're into a lot of competition. Northfield did exactly that, but fortunately, they had a good product & their market share's even increased. Just how much a 'new' builder can increase his prices without a lot more exposure (satisfied owners), is hard to judge. Whatever,i wish Tyler all the success he deserves & i hope he sells lots of good mandolins,

Great looking mandolins and the prices are within reach for average guys like me. (I also got distracted by the distressed Strat bodies and necks-- I know that is off the subject).
