Scotti, I was always curious as to what digital camera you had before. Seemed it would not take an in focus shot. I'm glad you got the new one and it's really taking some nice photo's of your #6. I bought a Canon S10 about 5 years ago, a 2.1 megapixel and it served me well. Last month, I decided to pass that one down to my nephew and get me a new one. I got an Olympus C-8080 8 megapixel and while there' a steep learning curve, it's taking some great pictures. You'll be seeing some of the results as soon as I get my new Ward Elliott mandolin home about the middle of September.

By the way, what was the other digital camera you had?

Scotti, what caused the water damage? Did I miss something earlier?
    If F-model mandolins have F-holes then why don't A-model mandolins have A-holes???

Thought you guys might like to see an interesting image, I created this print last year. The owner took about 25 digital shots with a 3 mega pixel camera. He mailed me a CD with his separate shots with backgrounds, hands holding his mando etc. and all. Then I did my art & design thing with his individual shots.

Wow, Scottie, that reminds me of something a local luthier said when someone asked him if his guitars were similar to Martins.
He said "well, they both hold about the same amount of water.'
As for the photo's, I use an old Photodeluxe program that came with my first scanner. Much more basic than Photoshop,
but it has some contrast and saturation controls that really sharpen up the pictures. Then, I just try to get good lighting and trim away everything but the subject I want to show. You see so many shots here with the mandolin in the case and half the living room or the back yard in them.

That #6 sure is a nice mando. I got to meet Scotti at the Dayton Island Park shindig and got to play that ther mando. It's a loud one and plays real easy. I didn't think the action was high on it at all like someone had said a while back. Scotti is a nice guy to boot and doesn't strike me as the type that would start a BRW riot JK Good to meet to you in person Scotti.
