Default Melodie by Josef Suk 1874 - 1935

I enjoyed the music of Josef Suk when introduced to it in my violin-playing days.

A Czech composer, he was a favourite pupil of Dvorak and married Dvorak's daughter.

This simple piece is for piano, which I have arranged for two mandolins and guitar (or mandocello). It is in basic ternary form with Mandolin I playing a gentle melody over a broken chord guitar accompaniment (with Mandolin II filling in the middle bits !)

I have left out any tremolo (I prefer the simplicity of the sound without it) but I am sure it could be judiciously applied to the Mandolin I part in particular.

Dynamic marks are just basic suggestions. For more detailed dynamics I have included the original piano part as downloaded from IMSLP.
