Please note I am not benefitting from this in any way. I merely hope that the music and instrument are of interest.

Very cool! Thank you for posting!
Certainly of interest to me. I have his Scottish Guitar book (or at least a download of it).
I would like to tackle more of this kind of thing.
I like the way the Spanish renaissance harper Javier Sainz plays this music.

Hi,
What a lovely video. Great playing and selection of tunes and highlights what a fine mandolin a Sobell is!
Regards,
I love Rob's work on the Scottish lute.
Thank you Rob for your continued works in interpreting and transcribing. Many of these are sweetly irresistible and will lie well on clarsach (I presume some derive from harp repertoire? Maybe I'll find out when I purchase your book)

I've been doing mostly 18th Century Scottish tunes for the last year or so. I'm looking forward to seeing this book.

I sometimes have a go at these two Canaries which Bill Taylor showed me. The bottom string on my 10 string Sobell is really handy here.

Rob Mackillop's CD The Healing has been one of my favorites for a long time. He makes a variety of really nice music, I enjoy and admire him a great deal.

I really enjoy Rob's outings on scottish guitar/cittern. I love that medieval sound. This beautiful rainy morning I was playing those sweet pieces - Sweet William, Lady's Lilt on hammered dulcimer.
Anyone know when the book/song listing is available?
When does the book come out? I checked Amazon and it's not listed on Rob's page. I'm very interested. The French tune (third one?) is very beautiful...

Hi folks, Rob MacKillop here. Thanks for all the interest in the book, and also for the nice comments about my work in general. Much appreciated.
Mel Bay can't tell me when the book will be out, but I think it will be Spring 2018. I will report back when I have definite news.
The video only gives an example of half the tunes in the book. There will be standard notation and also tab. It will be available as a hard copy from the Mel Bay site and any of their sellers, or you could download it from their site, once released, as an eBook. Soundfiles for every piece will also be available for download.
Any questions, just ask.

Rob, I couldn't quite make out the title - ".....-Lady's Lilt"?
Lady Lothian's Lilt.
The book is available now: https://www.melbay.com/Products/3067...-mandolin.aspx

Got my copy today. Looks good.
Got a bonus of Mandolin Medicine Solos for Evening Solace bound between pages 28 and 29. Someone at the printer must have been asleep at the wheel.
Thanks, but I also got that very book today. Coincidence?
