You might try a compressor/sustainer pedal. Overdrive and reverb will also extend the sustain, but overdrive in particular changes the tonality. I like the Wampler Ego Compressor.

Of course, the best way to sustain a long note on an acoustic mandolin is tremolo - manually produced, rather than an electronic pedal.
