Thanks Jamie!
I just finished making another mandolin. I used Graham McDonald’s book as a guide.
This is the second one I have made using his book.
Mr. Meldrum gives a great solution in his book.
This is a terrific book! It has some great ideas for DIYers. Thanks Rob! Just email him at rob.meldrum@gmail.com and put Mandolin Setup in the subject line.
I still have to finish fitting the feet by lateral 1/8th inch sanding. This loses its glamour quickly.....
I bought the blue binding on Amazon.
nothing to write home about but I’m happy with it. I posted a video of “Miss McLeod’s Reel” in the old time forum.

Thanks for your kind response Marty. I appreciate it a lot!
arched, unbraced, big leaf
Thanks for your consideration
What is an average maximum thickness for a teardrop (A model) back made from maple please? Thank you for your consideration.
Thanks for your help Rob. I appreciate it.
Would it be OK to use a 2 way truss rod for a mandola neck?
Does the nut have to go to the bottom of the slot?
No number, just a Gibson Kalamazoo label
Is this approximately from the 1920s ?
Thanks for your help.
Nice job on this old fiddle tune! I like it.
It’s purdy exciting that you’re finishing up. I used Zinnser sealer for my first build. It worked purdy good. I rubbed about 14 coats of Tru-oil over that and it still looks good.
Whatever YOU...
Thanks Scott.

I’m sorry, I can’t read music. I learned it by ear. I slowed down some YouTube videos
and played them over and over until the tunewas pounded into my head.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks...
I’m wondering if they would resist the torque better if the wood grains were perpendicular to the metal shaft?
