I just got tickets to see them. I haven't been that exposed to them so far but am really looking forward to seeing them.
I'm distressing my Eastman right now...
I'm playing showtunes on it!
ooops. well the mando won't notice.
Jupiter it is.
I bought my Eastman from the classifieds. It showed up with issues and the seller helped me solve all issues. Great experience for me...
Kudos to Scott and the general Cafe audience/members.
I find both of those equally creepy!
My personal one- Grateful Dead's St. Stephen
"Been here so long he's got to calling it home"
I always heard as: "With hair so long he's got to comb it at...
John Prine "Happy Enchilada" ------- s/b "half an inch of water"
I was just gifted a Silvertone- the local tech said it was from the 50's-60's. This will be my first attempt at it. I cleaned it up and the tech is doing a set up for me as I have no idea what it...
My Eastman 804 got tagged with Bertha: We were driving from New Hampshire to Montana in the winter. I was driving the moving truck with the dogs and my wife and kids were in the Honda. They were...
I will be rehearsing at 8:30am as soon as I get off this graveyard shift tomorrow morning. Gonna miss the wife as she took a road trip to Missoula and I have to work this weekend.
Chris,
Yet another nod for the Eastman. I have an 804 (oval hole A) that I play every day for folk/jazz/rock stuff and really have fallen in love with it. I second the suggestion to play it first...
I don't have any clips but one of my faves is Aint Misbehavin.
Ummm... Wow!
Still have this one from a few years ago...
I'm still missin' my buddies back in New Hampshire I guess!
Kevin, I have to admit that I was an adherant to that point of view as well. I guess it just sort of made sense in a "gut feeling" way. That's what is great here, so much knowledge freely given.
...
There have been lots of stories about dryness related casualties this winter on the Cafe and though I won't say I have gotten paranoid, I did get a hygrometer for my house. I keep all my instruments...
Welcome Tank...
You will be assimilated...
Do not resist.
Have fun with your new mando. When I first started out this place was (and still is) a gold mine of info and good people.
See ya...
How do you get two banjo players to play in tune?
Shoot one of them...
OK. So I'm sitting here at work, graveyard shift, just had to deal with a beligerent drunk kid and decided to check out the cafe at 2:00am for a little cheering up.
Now I have to clean the Dr....
I'm with Mike, Meeting on Southern Soil- Ostrushko & Blake is a disc I'll put on and listen to over and over.
On the other hand I can't get through "Jimmy Brown", syrup galore.
Now I don't feel so bad about the pick marks on my 804! I'm just distressing it!
Beautiful mando!
If I could...
I would get a nice F from Lynn Dudenbostel and have him put "The Dude" on the headstock.
Life would be complete.
Greetings, nice to see a fellow skeptic outside the JREF forum!
I submit that I have just ordered a BC and am looking forward to seeing what it's like. They do offer a return policy now.
I'll Play!
Mandolin: David Grisman
Singer/Songwriter: Jerry Garcia

I know the feeling Mike, though I did just pause for a moment to play a few scales... I have noticed that the commitment to "play out" really pushes me to practice more and my left hand has built up...
