well at first I wast playing mccartney's dance tonight in a normal tuning but I decided I wanted the music part of my cover to sound closer to the original done by paul and that song is in one step...

Alright whats the formula one tuning down one step I know there is an F and C involved with the string setup.

I actually did it because I was bored off my rocker and I don't see the point of having 2 of the same string, I also figured it would be easier to tune each time just so many knobs lol.

So I am guessing making my 8 to a 4 ain't a bad idea? :disbelief::))

Well I just took my 8 string acoustic tearshape mandolin and made it just 4 strings. I'm getting the same sound and everthing just completely out of tune at the moment.

um maybe the fact I havn't changed the battries in awhile or maybe its because its a cheapie tuner, I'm told mandolins are hard to keep tuned so I ask would a more higher end tuner be a good idea?
