Do you think it was manufactured like that? Or was it maybe a home repair by some guy that used metal instead of wood?
I think it’s in my sig, but primarily the The Loar LM-590. It’s woody sounding and I’ve done some setup on it and it really sounds good, for what it is. Only issue is the neck is set low and I had...
I just attended the Wernick Jam class in Pickerington, Ohio. It was a great time and I learned quite a bit.
I had a Lone Star branded mando about 15 years ago. Made in Mexico. I bought it new for about $125 if I recall correctly. I liked it, but I wasn’t really worked up over it either. I decided to...
I’m 69. I started playing mandolin about 5 years ago, then set it away for a few years. I’m really been on it hot and heavy for a few months now, again. I truly enjoy it.
oh yes. The oval has a different tone, sweeter, more bell-like etc.
Thanks!
Maybe I could sing it to her.

Ain’t no way I’m paying $3.99 shipping!
That’s pretty cool. And there’s some interesting comments on it.
I love that song. First heard it on a Steve Martin LP
Just put four mandolins in it instead.
I hope its UV filtering.
Kinda what he said. ^^^
I don’t know if I’d want a bowel shaped mandolin.
Not all pedals are for all instruments and especially with acoustic instruments and voice, a little is typically better than a lot.
I too never ever had much use for chorus, except to maybe to...
Nice. I tried the acquila soprano 5ths string on a uke, but broke the E tuning to mando pitch.
I need to get another set and go an octave lower.
Id love to hear that 8 stringer.
After a half hour of practice my ukulele fingers are back. Such a sweet lilting instrument.

I’m amazed at how many chord shapes exist on a mandolin often in the same position. Just yesterday I learned two other A7 shapes.
