SF Mandolin Orchestra: Open Rehearsal for Prospective Players
Do you play guitar or any member of the mandolin family (mandolin, mandola, octave mandolin, mandocello)? Can you read music on your instrument? Would you enjoy playing with others?
Then consider dropping by this open rehearsal of the SF Mandolin Orchestra. We’re a plucked instrument community string orchestra with 15-25 members that plays two concert seasons each year, as well as community concerts at places like Mission Dolores, the Academy of Sciences and a variety of senior living centers around the Bay Area. We’re preparing for our upcoming season, and are looking for additional musicians who’d like to join us.
This open rehearsal gives you the opportunity to SEE what we’re all about, MEET us, and LISTEN to our music. If you’re then interested in playing with the orchestra, you can talk with our musical director Achille Bocus at the rehearsal, and make plans to then play with the orchestra at future rehearsals and concerts. If you would like to PLAY with us at the open rehearsal, please contact Achille at iltremolo@gmail.com to get music.
