Ferrara, Italy — Carlo Aonzo's 7th International Mandolin Academy will be held August 19-26, 2012 at the Hotel San Girolamo dei Gesuati, situated in the center of the city and built in a former convent of the 1400s, nestled around the quiet cloisters and gardens.

The Academy is open to mandolin and guitar players of all levels, from beginners who never played before, to expert and accomplished instrumentalists. The study of music will be enhanced by various cultural events. Together with musicians from all over the world, moments of intensive cultural, musical and social exchange are shared with participants of all ages in which music becomes the common, universal language.

This year's staff boasts an all-star line-up of instructors including:

Carlo Aonzo (Italy), classical mandolin
Paul Kelly (Ireland), Irish mandolin and guitar
Katsumi Nagaoka (Japan-Italy), classical guitar
Steffen Trekel (Germany), classical mandolin
Brian Oberlin (USA-Oregon), bluegrass mandolin
Piero Lisci (Italy), classical mandolin
Stefano Squarzina (Italy), conducting
Paolo Bonfanti (Italy), acoustic guitar (blues, bluegrass)

The complete course includes full board (from lunch on Sunday, August 19 through lunch on Sunday, August 26), accommodation in single, double or triple room, music courses, events and activities at the Academy and transportation to activities planned by Academy.

Space is limited and registration will be confirmed at the time of the payment. As a sell-out is anticipated, early registration is encouraged.
