New York, N.Y. — Bassist Edgar Meyer and mandolinist Chris Thile close out a month-long tour in support of their newly released self-titled CD with an appearance at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
Meyer and Thile will welcome Mark O'Connor on violin as their special guest.
Collectively Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile, and Mark O'Connor have received three Grammys, two Grammy nominations, an Oscar nominee, the MacArthur Foundation Award, and the BBC Folk Musician Award.
In addition to the Duo performing selections from their new CD, this is an opportunity to see and hear three of the world's finest acoustic musicians together for an evening of very special music.
Nonesuch released this first recording collaboration by Meyer and Thile. The album features 12 original compositions with the deluxe edition of the album a 50-minute DVD featuring performances, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes conversations with the two musicians.
