Santa Cruz, Calif. — The Mandolin Symposium has released the class schedule for the 2008 Mandolin Symposium led by David Grisman and Mike Marshall taking place on the University of Santa Cruz campus June 23-28, 2008.
With nearly 90 classes offered and a dozen instructors from around the globe, there is more than one person could possibly take in during a single week.

In addition to David and Mike, instructors include Dudu Maia and Danilo Brito (Brazil), Caterina Lichtenberg (Germany) and Ronnie McCoury, Paul Glasse, Andy Statman, Tony Williamson, Herschel Sizemore, Rich DelGrosso, Andy Statman, Ashley Broder and Debora Chen. Steve Gilchrist is flying in from Australia to spend the week with builders.
Each day includes Music Appreciation sessions, two elective periods, an ensemble rehearsal and an evening concert followed by hosted, late-night jams. The week ends with a free concert at the University featuring students and faculty alike.
