Pembrokeshire, Wales — Transatlantic Bluegrass School is pleased to announce a scholarship program which will offer free tuition to younger bluegrass musicians who might otherwise not be able to participate. Spaces will be available in each of the classes being held May 7-11, 2008 in the coastal village of Newport in Pembrokeshire, Wales (UK).

The school features world-class tutors including Bobby Hicks (fiddle), Kenny Smith (flatpick guitar), Amanda Smith (vocals), Emory Lester (mandolin), Ross Nickerson (5-string banjo) and Mike Bub (string bass). This scholarship program has been developed in an effort to encourage the development and appreciation of bluegrass music in musicians between 16-25 years of age.

The Transatlantic Bluegrass School was established by US and UK musicians to promote traditional and contemporary bluegrass music generally and to enable musicians within the EU to study with the very finest musicians from the US.

A goal of the scholarship program to extend access to those dedicated individuals who will become our next generation of fine bluegrass musicians.
