Milwaukee, Wisc. – American mandolin virtuoso Mike Marshall will appear in concert with The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra on November 17-18, 2007.

Saturday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. they appear at the Stoughton Opera House in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Sunday they appear at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Recital Hall at 4:00 p.m.

Mike and orchestra will perform his recent composition, "Concerto No. 1 for Mandolin, Mando-cello and Mandolin Orchestra."

This piece is scheduled to be recorded next year, providing the Milwaukee area audience with a special preview of this amazing composition.

In addition to performing with Mike on Concerto No. 1, the orchestra will also be delighting the audience with a repertoire of Ragtime-inspired material, including waltzes, tangos, fox trots and marches.

Music direction will be by Paul Ruppa and Linda Binder. The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra is the oldest mandolin orchestra in the United States. Celebrating its 107th birthday, they have performed at highly regarded venues throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin, were two-time musical guests on the NPR radio show "A Prairie Home Companion" in 2006, and just released their second CD, "Unplugged Since 1990."
