150 Hot Tunes for Fiddle & Mandolin

150 Hot Tunes for Fiddle and Mandolin is transcribed, arranged and illustrated by Steve Parker and edited by Alan Davis. The format of the book is similar to the author's previous book from 2006, Ragtime for Fiddle and Mandolin.

This self-published book contains 150 American, International and Classical tunes in standard notation with additional tabs for three of the classical mandolin selections. The tunes were transcribed from recorded sources and arranged for fiddle and mandolin with accompanying guitar chords.

The American section features 20 Ed Haley fiddle tunes, most published for the first time along with many other fiddle tunes, waltzes and schottisches.

The International section features music from Canada, Mexico, the UK, Italy, Sweden and four Klezmer tunes. The Classical section contains four pieces from Bach, Beethoven, Handel and Mozart. The book includes index, bibliography, discography and a list of websites to explore. A tune list, table of contents and a sample tune can be downloaded from the website.

The book cost is $35, which includes the CD and U.S. shipping. The CD contains all 150 tunes in MP3 audio format.
