Butch Baldassari

Butch Baldassari is interviewed on the Richard Smith Music hour on Radio Free Nashville (98.9 WRFN), broadcast this Monday, July 31, 2006 from 11:00 - noon, CST. Access is available via streaming audio over the internet.

Smith, one of Nashville's finest guitar players, has hosted the weekly show since since August, 2005 and features local artists talking about their careers to date, their latest projects, and also some of their main influences. As part of the show, recordings of featured artists are played combined with talk in between, and sometimes the artists play live depending on what they want to do.

Baldassari, founder of the Nashville Mandolin Ensemble and creator of SoundArt Recordings is one of Nashville's busiest mandolin artists. He has appeared on "A Prairie Home Companion," "CBS This Morning," CNN and "Riders in the Sky Radio Theatre."

Past featured performer's on Smith's show have included Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, David Grier, Scott Vestal, Aaron Till, Casey Dreissen, Bryan Sutton, and many more.

Believing that democracy cannot function if only a few have access to the media, Radio Free Nashville, Inc. (RFN) intends to be a community forum for the music, voices, and viewpoints generally ignored or misrepresented by the corporate media. Archives of previous shows are available in MP3 format.
