On June 15-18, 2006, Sandy Bar Ranch in Orleans, California will host three days of acoustic workshops, jams and fun on the river, with special guest Dix Bruce, musician, composer, teacher, and award-winning guitarist from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Sandy Bar Ranch is located on the Klamath River, in the heart of the Klamath Mountains in Northern California, and offers access to swimming, biking, fishing, hiking, kayaking, rafting and many miles of wilderness trails.
Dix Bruce plays and teaches both guitar and mandolin, and is equally at home playing a wide range of styles including Bluegrass, Swing Jazz, Acoustic Blues and Folk. All levels of players are welcome to come learn and play in a supportive environment. All acoustic instruments are welcome, though instruction will be on the guitar and mandolin.
Where: Sandy Bar Ranch, Orleans, California
When: Thursday evening, June 15-18, 2006
Cost: $200/person, includes hostel style lodging in cabins or camping, 1 meal/day (participants responsible for other meals) and all workshops and jam circles.
The idea behind the Klamath River Music Camp is to provide an opportunity for acoustic musicians of various levels and styles to come together in a beautiful mountain setting and supportive environment. The first Music Camp was held in June of 2004 and was a huge success.
Lodging is in riverside cabins, hostel style, or camping. One meal a day is served and participants are on their own for the other two.
About Dix Bruce

A multifaceted musician and prolific writer, his guitar, mandolin and banjo playing is featured on six of his own CD releases. To date Mel Bay Publications has published over thirty five of Bruce's instructional book and CD sets along with two instructional videos; covering everything from bluegrass and old time music, to blues and jazz.
