John McGann Education Videos Re-Released on Homespun

Woodstock, N.Y. — Homespun Music Instruction has announced the availability of two important video instructional products from the late John McGann.

John McGann's Rhythm Mandolin: From Bluegrass to Celtic to Swing and Sound Fundamentals: Touch, Tone and Technique for Mandolin had been out of print and become increasingly difficult to obtain since his untimely passing in 2012.

Homespun has made both videos available as a download, available from Mandolin Cafe On Demand. Both lessons contain a PDF file of music transcriptions.

The videos can be purchased and downloaded separately or as a 2-lesson package at a reduced price.

The first ever Associate Professor of Mandolin at Bostonís Berklee College of Music, McGann was a National Mandolin Champion and a recording artist for Green Linnet Records, Narada, Rounder Records, Flying Fish, East Side Digital and others. He composed, arranged, produced and recorded with many of the leading lights of contemporary bluegrass, Celtic and jazz. Part of his legacy included some of the brightest stars in acoustic music that studied under him at Berklee.

I have downloaded the two-video package - these are great lessons valuable to beginning and intermediate players. I'm searching for information on the PDF files - how do we access these after paying for and downloading the videos?

I believe those are downloaded at the same time as the rest of the purchase. If you can't find them we can get ahold of the support people that provides that service for us.

Thanks, Scott. I downloaded the videos to the PurplePlayer app on my iPad. There's no PDF files to be found...

I got both of these when they were originally released on DVD and frankly I don't recall any written material with them. I'll poke around and see what I can find later though.

The pdf files are on the DVD - at least on the ones I have

Bumping up an older topic here:

Has this missing PDF issue been figured out yet? I'm on the verge of buying these videos here at the Cafe, but missing DVD notation files is a situation known to frustrate me a lot. I'm a super-visual thinker and comfortable with music notation, so seeing notes written a staff does a lot to help me follow and remember stuff.
