Full Moon Pickin' Party - Nashville, Tenn.

Nashville, Tenn. — Friends of Warner Parks, an organization devoted to funding educational programs and special projects for inner city children, will hold their 2009 Full Moon Pickin' Party on October 2, 2009 at the Steeplechase Barn Equestrian Center, 2500 Old Hickory Blvd. in Percy Warner Park.

This year's party is a special tribute to the late Butch Baldassari. Butch created a renewed interest in the mandolin through a wide variety of musical projects and was an inspiration to people who loved his music and knew him as a friend. He was instrumental in the start up of the Full Moon Pickin' series in 2001.

These family-friendly fundraisers feature Middle Tennessee's finest bluegrass music under the light of a full moon. Pickers form circles under the trees and around the grounds performing and jamming while several headliners appear on stage.

Entertainment for the evening will feature an eclectic ensemble of musicians including Kathy Chiavola, Sharon Cort & New River Ranch, Matt Combs, and more.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Children six and under are free, $10 for children age 7-15. Musicians with a bluegrass instrument will be admitted for only $5. All proceeds go to the Friends of Warner Parks to fund special projects.

Tickets may be purchased online or by cash/check or by mail (50 Vaughn Rd, Nashville, TN 37221). Event will be held rain or shine.
