Jim is a nice guy. I met him several years ago at Windgap.

I was looking in the classifieds and ran across an instrument being sold by someone I went to high school with 30 odd years ago.

I had several MC encounters in the past. I guess most of us are real existing people.

    People, be careful out here.

We had a young couple in Nashville that both played mandolin who met on this Forum and ultimately got married.

Randy, it was great meeting you. Thanks for nice comments, good to meet other bluegrassers in our region.

Mike, I believe we met at Wind Gap - good to put a face with an online friend.

    Scott, I'm already married, lol!

I've had a pleasure to meet a number of members over the years plus the friends who were already members.

Well, I've met several members, though not by accident. These nice folks are kind enough to look me up when they come down here. I look forward to Dave Reiner's annual visit with family at Christmas time. The only time I've met a member elsewhere was a planned meet with Jamie Stanek last summer at Philadelphia Folk Fest.

That said, I do wear my Mandolin Café ball cap all the time, in the hopes someone will recognize it and we will make each other's days. Years ago I bumped into someone on the street wearing a WFUV hat (one of my favorite radio stations from back up north (Fordham University's Voice), the other being WPKN in Bridgeport CT (no idea what the call letters stand for), a great listener-supported station), we got to talking, and I swear he started tearing up, and I may have, too. It's wonderful to think how much these things mean to people. So always wear your hat, everyone! You never know ...

I have run into a couple of fellow Cafe members at the Philly Folk Festival where I usually have case stickers on me a thrust at people holding mandolin cases.when I introduce myself. I've met a handful of Cafe members in real life under mandolin and non mandolin related settings. My most mando dense meet up was the two CBOM-O-Rama's Otterly and Avi hosted a few years back.

It goes to show me that most people you'll meet in this world are good fine folks. At least if you're meeting due to shared interests.
