I called Elderly before I bought from Interstate. Elderly doesn't ship cases for free unless you buy a mandolin. Most everything else ships free.

Never would think you could buy something cheaper in UK than USA. That's a big difference in price. Shipping should be about the same but don't know about UK taxes. You all got that Queen and her Palace with a huge stone wall with guards around it to keep up. We've just got a little old white house with a cheap iron gate around it. Buy the way due to my long term CAS addiction I ordered one of these with the 10% savings and free shipping and no taxes. Saw one at MerleFest a few years ago at a dealer booth and was most impressed.

I guess shipping makes a difference; Hiscox cases are made quite close to me in Staffordshire, UK. I'm really impressed with the case; the case plus F5 plus accessories is still lighter than an empty Calton, which is good news for my torn shoulder! I really like the storage as well; plenty of room for clip-on mics, strings, tuners etc.

In the UK we have to pay 20% tax; so for a £100 case the government get £20! I'm not sure if the Queen gets all of that

20% !!!!! And I fuss over our 7% State sales tax. I know some US States are at 10% but I've not heard of any near 20%.

I received the case on 9/17, only took a week to get here from th UK. Seems like an awesome case. I'm 250 lbs and can stand on it! Plenty of room and light weight.

Just wondering, were there customs fees added to the price?

How much did they charge for the shipping?
