Thread: J.L. Smith (5-Stringer) New Color.

Default J.L. Smith (5-Stringer) New Color.

Recently built: I tried somewhat of a new look on this one. It has a retro. satin metallic look, real similar to Fenders Shorline Gold. I was real pleased with the results.
    Thanks For Looking,
    John

Looks great John. If I didn't have 2 of your fine instruments already, I'd be tempted.

I have seriously considered an electric mandolin, but I have a 5# weight limit on my right hand and have 3 fused vertabra. Electric guitars are just too heavy, so I might have to find an electric mandolin to try. i can handle my acoustic mandolin just fine.

    Hmmmm......wonderful looking instruments John!

I don't know exactly how much John's instruments weigh. They're certainly not as heavy as some others I've tried. You can look for hollow or semi-hollow electrics if weight is a concern.

My 5-string models weigh approximately 4.5 lbs. The 4-stringers are of course, quite a bit lighter.
