Default Hoffee or Calton fit with a tone gard

Do the standard Calton or Hoffee cases work with a tone gard on the instrument or do you need to custom order for a deeper instrument pocket?

I have both a Calton and a Hoffee case, and the F5-model mandolins in each have a Tone Gard. The fit is just a small bit looser in the Calton, but the the surrounding fabric-covered foam padding is slightly stiffer, and also thinner. You can just lay the instrument with its Gard in the case. The fit is a bit tighter in the Hoffee, where the surrounding fabric and foam padding are a trifle softer, but also thicker. You need to press the instrument and Gard down into the case (lightly). No problems whatsoever, either way.

Tonegard fits in both my Calton and Pegasus.

Same question about a Price case. Anyone using a Price case with tone guard attached?

I looked into Price cases at Wintergrass in 2012. Price was there with a few cases. Your mando will not fit in the case with the tone gard.

I would check with Mr. Price as he bought a Tone-Gard especially with the idea of modifying his case to fit it.

And TonyP, the ToneGard with the Flowerpot is fantastic and looks great on the mando. Thanks so much for getting that to me so quickly.

As I expected. The Price case is very snug. That's a good thing. Better snug than otherwise in my opinion.

My Northfield F fits perfectly in my Price case with the tone gard installed.
