Process Question..
There A re-plating after the engraving, or is the black paint covering the bare base metal exposed ?..
Or was the Allen Bronze ones engraved then electro plated thereafter. ?

Mandroid, this was a Collings tailpiece that I had de-plated before I sent it to Weldon. He plated it after engraving, as I understand. He applies the black to it after he plates it, I believe. He did that at my request because I prefer the contrast, particularly when he does deep relief like on this one.
Incredible work!!! Just...Wow
Thanks for sharing

OK i get it the Allen TP was on Your Collings , so its a Collings tailpiece.

Yup.
Well at least you didn't have to buy another one..
Collings may order enough in a batch, to have their Brand stamped on it, IDK..
if it has 'Collings' on it somewhere.
for others that want to do both an engraved tailpiece
and an upgrade from a standard one, the Allen Company sells them Un plated
then after the engraving work they get plated just once.
De Plating is a current flow Reversal in the electro plating process, it's an additional cost.

That is awesome!
I'm wondering if he could do a James tailpiece and approximately what the engraving cost is?

Another in the works from master engraver Weldon Lister. This one, a James tailpiece for my Tom Ellis A special, harkens to Sam Bush's tailpiece with the flowerpot on it. This one hasn't been plated or antiqued yet.

Now that's a flowerpot!
Doc, that is the best looking TP I've ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous!
