    Default TAB program

    Hi
    what are people's experiences with the different TAB programs out there
    want to get one and not sure which one

    as I play a lot of classical music I like to be able to display both regular notation and below tab as well

    http://tabledit.com will do that. I've had good luck with it.

    Yeah, Tabledit is proabably the way to go, and easily worth the price if you enter or edit a lot of tab. It's very powerful, easy to use--especially compared to some of the other programs out there--and there's already a ton of free mandolin music in that file format (.TEF) There's a learning curve with any new program, but sit down with it for an evening and you'll have it figured out. There are some good tutorials online.

    Also, in the interest of saving you time, if you have midi (.mid) files of the classical music you want to enter (from www.classicalmidiconnection.com for example), Tabledit can import it and convert one or all of the different parts to mandolin tab automatically.
