Finally the "The" is getting the credit it has long been due.

Makers come and go, but the "The" remains, steadfast, original in its simplicity, and omnipresent at the pointy end of the mandolin spear.

Even when makers rudely exclude the "The" on lesser models, its impact remains inferred.

It's a definite improvement. Sadly it's also the 1st April.

I normally hate "the" on the headstock, but I'm willing to make an exception in this case. I'd proudly own and display a "The" mandolin!

Now finally someone is getting back to the real "Monroe" sound in the mandolin. It is pretty much a known fact that once Monroe put back the "Gibson" logo in his headstock his sound was never the same. In getting the mandolin back with the replaced logo in 1982 Monroe said "They done sometumpin' to it down there at that there Gibson factory and theys won'ts tells me abou' it. If it don't gets no better I'll have to remove it again cause the ways it is ain't no part of nothin' ".
Can't wait to put my order in. I wonder if they will offer the option of a real rattlesnake tail inside it?

Distressing is done with the actual fireplace poker from the Monroe hearth.
