CNN has announced a major shake-up in the 2014 Kentucky Senate race with newgrass legend Sam Bush announcing his candidacy for the position currently held by U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. The announcement was made on Wolf Blitzer's news program The Situation Room.

A bill has been introduced in the Kentucky legislature to outlaw "shacking" and all of its variants within the borders of the state, effective upon passage.

IBMA has vowed to seek an injunction and challenge the ban in court should it be signed into law by Gov. Steve Beshear.

Just so you know. Sam is not related to the Texas Bushes, so a vote for him is not a vote for them. Yes, Denny, you can vote via absentee ballot from Florida, or anywhere, as long as you're registered in Kentucky. And if Sam is on the ballot. BTW, unanimous votes on the resolution? Not likely, given the large numbers of traditionalists in the constituency.
