Happened to catch this post...to my surprise, no replies!
So, not wanting to pass up an opportunity to 'show my stuff'.....here are a few pics...
This is my ArchJazz model.....
Here's a couple more details...
Yes, those are microelectronics hiding under that macassar ebony pickguard! Pickguard/pickup (a Kent Armstrong minihumbucker) unit comes away easily to leave acoustic look.
'Spose I should mention....for those mando folks who dig this style....I'd be happy to accommodate you! #
This is carved top/back with tone bar construction. I have another model that has same look, but completely different construction technique.
Give me a holler......Tom Durr (Doc's Mandolins)
Joe....I don't see 8 strings on that beast...and looks like it has been on steroids!
Just kiddin....I thought this thread was for archtop style MANDOS!!!! # I bet that's why I have felt like the "Lone Stranger" ....went back and looked at the thread title....it IS a bit misleading. I thought it was kinda cold and lonesome in here....shoulda never left home without my scroll! #LMAO #
Alright .....let's see some more archjazz mandos besides mine. Out of the closet sans scroll!! #
Here's my latest. Cutaway with pickup, hand carved spruce top & flamed maple back & sides. Ebony tailpiece. Rather easy to play, sounds great.
Stephen Perry
Maniac, you've got MY attention! What a gorgeous design and execution for the headstock!...Kerry PS tell me about the tailpeice...
