Awesome! I know you will love it. I got mine from Dennis new in '06. Traded (2) mandolins for it. They are wonderful instruments. Very beautiful in more ways than one. Did I say loud!? They can cut through anything and with fantastic tone. The Goldrush is the real deal IMHO ENJOY!

AH! I saw that in the shop just before it shipped. I was having a pickup installed in my Breedlove. I went to take a look but I was told she already had a new home :'( In any case, I'm very excited for you! The Fern that was next to it on the wall was beyond incredible. Someday...

What a great purchase -- I was really impressed with the video Adam did on that mandolin! If I did not have a Sam Bush I'd have a Gold Rush for sure. Congrats! Wear it in good health!

Do you have any advice for aspiring fiddlers?

Congratulations Burk on both of you new Babies. Both are gonna keep you busy. Back in 2006 I was happy with my F5 until my wife and I went to visit a friend near Janet Davis Music and I decided to sneak off and drop in and check out the store. When they asked me if they could help me(all very nice Folks) I said show me a mandolin that will knock my socks off. Well here we are in 2013 and those sock are still MIA. My April 13th 2006 is a little darker than yours and Mike's with plainer darker ribs(non flame, more like a guitars grain orientation). The Sitka top billets if book matched must have had one flipped 180 degrees as you can see in the photo from the checker board effect of the stain from dark to light. The voicing and strings used on mine is a little different from Mikes but both are great mandolins. From the sound of Adams demonstration, your's has it all in spades. Congratulations again.

I'm sure opening the case for the first time was a wonderful experience. You sure got yourself a very fine mandolin to play.

Clef, it was very hard to wait an hour and a half to open the case after I received it from a very cold FedEx truck. But yeah it was like a light from heaven shining down on it when I opened for the first time.

I got to play it the first night Burk received it and it is a killer. The mid range just screams. Amazing that a brand new mando can sound that good.
