Much as I ought not to bring up this old chestnut, and with all due respect to banjo players whom I love and admire, there's this:

What do you call a banjo player in a suit and tie? The defendant.

I beg to differ. Many of the lawyers I know play banjo. I only know one other who plays mandolin.

Defendants, on the other hand ... bagpipers all.

Both banjo players and lawyers have been known to drone on and on.

Too easy and humane for the offense. Instead we should tie them up and make them listen to themselves ad nauseum.

It is said that banjo players spend half their time tuning their banjos and the other half playing them out of tune.

It's Rumored, that after The Piper Rid Hamlin of Rats, the town mayor asked for him to do the same, again, and handed him a Banjo.

Old Sausage's comment reminded me of a line from the movie Caddyshack, " if I kill all the golfers ( banjo players ) won't they put me in prison? "

If the Scottish army was allowed to march to war with bagpipes in order to frighten away the enemy, shouldn't the American army march with banjos...?
