Hi. I recently aquired a vintage Banjolele and I wondered if anyone could help me find out it's maker. All it has on the banjo is the word 'melody'. It has a beautiful oak finish. Really like it but just wanted to know who made it.

Looks like George Houghton & Sons, English maker. The resonator flanges are pretty distinctive, and "Melody" was one of their lines, apparently.

Sometimes Houghton instruments were marked GH&S, they also had a Trademark Lion (in repose) with the words "British Made". As Allen stated, melody was a Houghton Model.
To be pedantic, it's not a Banjolele- it's either a banjo-ukulele or a ukulele-banjo, whichever you prefer.
Banjolele is a trade name of Alvin D Keech and, as you're asking who made it, I assume it's not one of those.
