    Hopefully this is the proper place for this question. I have a Gibson Doyle Lawson and really like the neck and the sound. I have a couple of other mandolins with pickguards and have gotten very accustomed to their use(in my case a finger gauge. The abbreviated fb extension on the DL model may not allow for a guard--any comments are appreciated.
