Default Los Angeles Wernick Method Jam Class Forming

Join us Jan 12th for a Wernick Method Bluegrass Jam Class in Los Angeles - San Fernando Valley. No jamming experience is necessary and if you can play a C, D, G and A chord on your instrument you CAN play Bluegrass.

In this low-pressure class you will be playing bluegrass the first afternoon, using well-tested methods developed by Dr. Banjo himself. Experience the unique pleasure that making music with others can bring. Learn Bluegrass history, jamming etiquette, a little musical background and LOTS of new songs. Led by Randy Torno, a certified Wernick Method Instructor and a veteran California jam leader you will be ready to jam at the upcoming festival season. The ability to jam is a lifetime gift that brings together generations, and people with a love of great music, who might otherwise not have a lot in common.

    ALL BLUEGRASS INSTRUMENTS WELCOME.

We still have some openings at this class, especially for mando pickers. This is the fifth Wernick class I have run and is shaping up to be the best one yet. Expand your horizons and learn how to really play with others using Pete's well established methods. Minimum ability needed on your instrument, just bring a lot of enthusiasm and ability to change basic chords. Everyone that has passed through my course has truly enjoyed it, learned a lot and improved their playing. Covering four saturday afternoons, starting Jan 12th, this is the perfect way to jump start your jamming. For more info go to DRBANJO.COM
See you all at The Great 48 Jam in Bakersfield.

Are the Saturdays consecutive? Granada Hills is a bit of a haul from Irvine but I'm in Santa Monica twice a month - on Saturdays - for the L.A. Mandolin orchestra...
Do you have any plans to run a class in Orange County?

Eddie the classes are consecutive but if you can attend the first one this saturday and any of the others you will get a lot out of it. We have room for another mando player in this class.
I would run a class in Orange if there was enough interest and a place to run it.

What time on Saturday? LAME goes from 12:00 to 2:00 in Santa Monica.

Regarding a class in Orange County, how many and of which type of player would you require? What sort of space would you need?

Eddie the class runs from 2 to 6 with about an hour of introductory stuff so if you left at two we would be just getting into the meat of it when you arrived.
I would need about 6 or 8 players to do a class in Orange and somebody's living room big enough to hold them...any makeup of instruments is ok

I have the space - either living room or garage. I'll see if I can rustle up some players...

The next Wernick method class begins on Saturday April 6th for four consecutive weeks in Granada Hills. The class that just completed was almost sold out and I expect a good crowd for the April classes so early sign-up is suggested. For all the info or to register go to Drbanjo.com
    ALL bluegrass instruments welcome

Hundreds of students around the country have taken this Wernick class. See what they are saying about it at Drbanjo.com.

On June 14th through 16th, 2013 Pete Wernick and I are running the next Wernick method Jam Class at Huck Finn Bluegrass festival in Ontario California. This is the first year of Huck Finn at this new location and should be a great festival. Anyone new to jamming will learn a lot from these classes and they are open to ALL bluegrass instruments. Each session is two hours long and perfect for beginning and intermediate pickers. Come and learn to jam and meet Dr. Banjo as well.

There will also be a more in-depth jam class held in Granada Hills starting on August 18th. This class will be four hours per session for four weeks.

More information on these classes and to sign up go to DrBanjo.com.
