Default Converting an Epiphone concert uke to a mandolin tuning...

I bought an Epiphone "Les Paul" Concert Electric/Acoustic Uke and I am going to tune it to GDAE stringing and use nylon strings still. Has anyone else gone this route? If so, what brand strings are you using? Thanks!

Not really Electric, is it? OK maybe a piezo pickup ..
yea lots have before.. just are on the wrong category..
the Equipment section goes on .. about strings to 5ths tuned Ukes . go look around there..

steel strings and you may peel the glued on bridge Off under the tension.. or have the neck come loose.

Yeah, I am back to nylon strung as a mandolin. So far I like the sound through a buzz box to my Univox tube amp.

If you use the Aquila soprano uke strings tuned in fifths, you may find that the E String tends to break after about a week on a concert. You have to put on too much tension to get up to an E. I got around this by tuning my Kala concert F-C-G-D. It works fine that way, and horn player like it because easy keys like G, C and F put you in good horn keys: F, Bb, and Eb.
