    Default Chris Thile mandolin case

    Hello,

please, is this a Calton that Chris carries in this video? (see 0:23 and 0:55)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVmKw...layer_embedded
It appears to be slightly different in shape and surface..
In case it's not Calton does anybody know the brand, please?

    Have a nice day,
    H.

Looks rather like a Hoffee CF to me.

Very shiny finish, and a bit too rounded for a Calton, I think.

Yes. Hoffee indeed. Got to look at one really close at ibma. The nicest professional case I've ever seen. 750 dollars it better be the nicest.

A better question is what does he carry the Hoffee in? I could well imagine that case stored in an over-case for travel. Mostly something that looks like a steamer trunk, maybe an Anvil or similar?

I dropped my mandolin out of a gig bag and broke the scroll, but I still can't play like Chris Thile.

I would be amazed if anyone with a Loar checks it thru as baggage.... That would never happen. They all go in the carryon.
